Drawings were made as an integral part of developing animations. Drawings were made from observations, from readings of scientific and poetic texts, and as ways to reflect upon animations as they were developing.
Drawings provided visual stimuli for making animations. Small drawings were made on the pages of note books. Larger drawings were made using various media.
By ‘drawings’ I mean lines drawn on or engraved into various materials, and drawings composed through digital media.
Pencil and paint were used to draw on paper and canvas. Engravings were made into Perspex and glass. Digital drawings were made with a stylus and drawing tablet.
