The server delivering this website went down last week:
Dear Customers,
One of the data centres that Sydney Web Hosting uses to host it’s servers is recovering from a major outage.
A transformer exploded and the resulting fire destroyed power cabling. No one was injured, no servers damaged and no data was lost. This caused the loss of power to 9,000 servers and an estimated 20 million websites.
You can view the blog covering the incident and the recovery here:
http://service-update.theplanet.com/Sydney Web Hosting transfers nightly backups offsite to servers in other data centres in other cities. In the worst event with the complete destruction of a data centre your site can be reconstructed on a new server.
We are acutely aware that uptime is critical to your business, and you have our commitment that we will continue to work to provide reliable service.
Thank you for your patience.
I like this post title. 🙂
