Krill charisma rising (with sea levels) from Lisa Roberts on Vimeo.
Perceptions of krill are changing.
We now know that krill are not aimless drifters. Krill are food for whales, yes, but they are also purposeful, beautiful and playful creatures with individual and collective behaviours. Krill need protection from the forces of climate change. They play a key role in the ocean by stirring up nutrients from below, that krill and other creatures feed on. There is more C02 being absorbed into the ocean than krill and other marine life forms can cope with.
The well-being if krill is vital to our own. Krill are central to the marine food web and we are massive consumers of the larger animals that feed on them. We need to care about krill and their habitats.
